Hi, I’m Meera — the person behind Anytime’s Cooking. I didn’t train as a chef; I learned to cook the way most of us do, by watching my mother and grandmother in the kitchen, getting things wrong a few times, and slowly figuring out what actually works.
This site started as a personal recipe notebook. I kept forgetting which version of a dish turned out well and which didn’t, so I started writing them down properly — with real prep times, the substitutions I’ve actually tried, and the mistakes worth avoiding. Every recipe here has been cooked in my own kitchen, more than once, before I publish it.
What you’ll find here
I cook the way most people actually eat: some nights are a 20-minute stir-fry, some weekends are a slow braise or a proper bake. So the recipes are organized around that reality, not around fancy technique:
- Breakfast — the kind that gets you out the door or the kind worth lingering over
- Main Course — dinners that don’t need a special occasion
- Desserts & Baking — sweet things worth the oven time
- Quick & Easy — for the nights I don’t want to think too hard
- Vegetarian — plant-forward food that doesn’t feel like a compromise
How I write a recipe
I test a dish, adjust it, and only write it up once I’d genuinely make it again. If a recipe has a fussy step, I say so and explain why it matters. If there’s a shortcut that doesn’t hurt the result, I’ll tell you that too. I’d rather a recipe be honest and useful than impressive.

If you try a recipe, tell me how it went — genuinely, I read every message. Questions, substitution ideas, or requests are always welcome at info.anytimecookings@gmail.com or through the Contact page.
Thanks for stopping by my kitchen. Pull up a chair — let’s cook something good, anytime.
